MRS. CATHERINE SALISBURY, 90 years old, died near Blandinsville, Ill.,

Saturday at the home of her son, FRED. She was the last survivor of the

SMITH family, a sister of JOSEPH and HIRAM SMITH, the former a Mormon

Prophet, and both of whom were killed at Carthage during what was known

as the Mormon War.

She was an intelligent woman, well versed in the history of Mormon

times, a fine conversationalist, and highly respected.
