CORA A. REES, wife of ELSWORTH REES, of Carlisle, Iowa, after a lingering and painful illness died on the l2th inst. at the home of her brother-in-law, JAMES H. PITMAN. She was born February 20, l879, at Centerville, Iowa, and later her parents moved back to Decatur County where she grew to womanhood and in March, l900, went to Carlisle into the millinary business and on October 2, l90l, was married and within a short time developed the disease which caused her death. Her father died away from home, October 5, l889. Her mother is MRS. SARAH JOHNSON who was a daughter of FLEMON DALE, who died years ago. She was an intelligent, amiable young lady, her feet never wandering into unforbidden paths and her affections had never grown familiar with the vices of the world.

After she was prostrated, she was impressed that she must get to the home of her sister, MRS. JAMES H. PITMAN, and from whence she was taken to her last resting place. She was buried at Carlisle, the home of her husband who is almost prostrated at his loss together with his constant vigil and care of weeks of doubt, hope and worry. Very appropriate funeral services were conducted by Elders of the Leon Christian Church before the sad cortege started to Carlisle where the final ceremonies occurred.

The family and friends return their profoundest thanks to the friends who so kindly aided and assisted them during their sad bereavement.
