Eunice Pauline McVay Percell

Eunice Pauline McVay, daughter of Elmer Lincoln and Florence Burley (LaFollette) McVay, was born on March 4, 1915 at Dunbar, Nebraska. She departed this life on October 15, 1986 at the Decatur County Hospital at Leon, Iowa at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 11 days, following a long illness.

On October 16, 1935 Pauline was united in marriage to Earl Dean Percell at Des Moines, Iowa. They had the pleasure of celebrating their 50th anniversary in 1985. To this union were born 4 children: Harold Dean, who died in infancy, Delores Jeanette, Joyce Arlene and Roger Lee. Most of their married life was spent on a farm in Decatur County.

Pauline was baptized into the Lord at the Downey Church of Christ in 1934 and remained faithful until her death.

Her life centered around her family. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her special qualities touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be missed so much by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; infant grandson, Michael Adams; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Earl, of Davis City; daughters: Jeanette Manchester and husband, Russell, of Davis City; Joyce Adams and husband, Keith, of Lamoni; and son, Roger Percell of Davis City. Also surviving are 3 granddaughters: Barbara Green and husband, Denny; Delores Reed and husband, Robert; and Lesa Adams; 2 grandsons: Curtis Manchester and Jeffery Adams; 5 grandchildren: Mindi, Matthew and Lindsey Green, and Russell and Radonda Reed. Others include brothers-in-law: Clifford Percell, Austin Percell and wife, Lois; sisters-in-law: Lulu McVay, Lenore Percell, Mildred Imhoff and husband, Harry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
