Additional Obituary - HENRY FRANCIS PRICE

(Newspaper Source Unknown)

HENRY F. PRICE was born in Owen Co., Indiana, December 9, l852; was

joined in marriage to ELIZA E. HOFFA in l875, moving to Decatur Co.,

Illinois shortly after marriage, where he remained until the fall of

l877 when he moved to Decatur Co., Iowa, settling near the village of

Van Wert where he resided until the fall of l887, when he moved to

Lincoln Co., Nebraska settling on the Garfield Table where he held his

residence until his death.

Being in poor health for several years and wishing to visit the scenes

of his early life, he arranged to make an extended visit to Iowa and if

possible to Indiana, but his health failed rapidly and the angel of

death called for him while at the home of his brother-in-law, ROBERT

HOFFA at Underwood, Iowa, October 28, l902.

Brother PRICE was converted in the winter of l875-76 in Iowa under the

labors of Rev. Thos. Munyon and united with the United Brethren Church

and arriving in Nebraska, and not finding the church of his choice,

deposited his letter with the M.E. Church with which he has been

identified continuously either by class role or letter, until his death.

While his health permitted, he was an active worker, having acted as

steward, Sunday School Teacher and president of the Epworth League. He

was a devoted Christian, upright and sincere; a kind husband and father.

By his request, his remains were taken to Van Wert for burial,

accompanied by his wife and daughter, ELSIE. After appropriate funeral

services at the M.E. Church at Van Wert, conducted by his former friend,

Rev. James Blair, the remains were laid to rest beside his two little

children in the Van Wert Cemetery.
