Decatur County Journal
March 22, l906
The subject of this sketch was born August l7, l888, in Saline County,
Mo. Her mother died when she was only an infant and she was reared by a
Christian father. They moved to Iowa in the fall of l904.
She was united in marriage to PETE PERKINS, July 29, l905, and died
March ll, l906, at her home five miles northwest of Lineville. She
leaves a loving husband and father, one brother and a sister to mourn
her departure.
She had been a continual sufferer for some time until death relieved her
and she passed away to a brighter land where suffering is no more, and
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrowing nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain for the former things have passed away. Her departing words were
that she wanted her friends to meet her in Heaven.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Houston and she was laid to
rest in the Elm Cemetery. Those who still survive her are: ROBERT
ROCKHOLD and ALICE ELLIS.
