HIRAM PECK died at his home in Morgan Township, of typhoid fever, on

Sunday evening at 7 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks' duration.

The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at l o'clock and the remains were

laid at rest in Shields Cemetery. The deceased leaves a wife and seven

children. He was an industrious and useful citizen, respected and

beloved by all who knew him.

Two of MR. PECK's daughters are very sick with typhoid fever and their

recovery is considered doubtful.
