MARIA PARRISH was born in Knox County, Ohio, September 7, l8l8, and died

at the home of her daughter, MRS. SNOWDON, in Decatur County, Iowa, July

l5, l905, aged 87 years, l0 months and 8 days. Funeral services were

held at the home where a large number of friends and neighbors had

assembled. Rev. Joe Goodsell of Garden Grove had charge of services and

accompanied the friends to Lewisburg where interment took place.

MRS. PARRISH had made her home with her daughter, MRS. SNOWDON, since

l894. Two sons and two other daughters mourn her loss. She was a

member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, having been converted when a

child, her whole life has been lived in Christian faith. Many are the

frank expressions of her Christian virtue and character heard on all

sides. She had selected the passage of scripture from which the sermon

was preached, the words in which Paul in writing to Timothy, sums up his

career. "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I kept

the faith."

The family in their bereavement have the sympathy of their many friends

and neighbors.
