ROBERT ANDERSON PALMER, son of Minus and Jane McJimsey Palmer, was born

Oct. 24, l860, and departed this life at his home in Van Wert on July

l6, l946, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 22 days.

On Oct. l0, l889, he was united in marriage to Sarah Christian Stout,

who preceded him in death on March l2, l9l8. To this union five

children were born, two of whom preceded him in death, Everett on May

l4, l907 and Claud Wilhu on January 2l, l938.

On July 2, l9l9, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Collins and to

this union three daughters were born, one dying in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his departure; his devoted wife, two sons and three

daughters; Clair Palmer, Van Wert, Ia.; Vern Palmer, Garden Grove, Ia.;

Flossie Ramsey, Van Wert, Ia.; Waneta Combs, St. Joseph, Mo.; and

Vonleane Palmer of the home; three brothers and one sister: John Palmer

of Van Wert, Frank Palmer of Washington, Will Palmer of Lamoni and

Arzona McJimsey of Van Wert. One sister, Safrona DeVore, preceded him

in death; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The last year was spent in continued suffering, which he bore bravely to

the end. He entered the United Brethren Church at Round Knoll.

Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God Church on July l8,

l946 with the Reverend Lamb of Leon officiating. Interment was made at

the Van Wert Cemetery.
