DIED: -- LULU MAUD, daughter of JAMES J. and MARY E. POST, at her parents' home in Davis City, June l0, l897, after an illness of four months, of consumption. she was born in Leon, Iowa July 2nd, l882; baptized into the L.D.S. Church, May 6th, l894. She expressed a desire to live, but the allwise Creator deemed it best to take her unto himself. She leaves a father, step-mother, one sister, and two brothers with a host of relatives and friends to mourn her untimely departure.
Funeral services were held at the chapel on Friday at l0 a.m. Sermon by Elder H.A. Stebbins of Lamoni. Her remains were taken to Leon and placed beside her mother, who preceded her three years.
Dear Lulu thou hast left us,
And though we sorrow here,
We know that thou art happy,
And with thy mother dear,
We mourn not as the hopeless,
Not lost, but "gone before."
If we are true and faithful,
We'll meet on that blest shore.
