ANDREW J. OSBORN was born in Tennessee, April 25, l825, and died in Davis City, Aug. l2, l90l. He enlisted in the Union Army in l862, and was wounded desparately by bush whackers, while scouting near Newtonia, Mo., in the same year. He has lived in this valley ever since the war, and has been sadly disabled by his wounds. He leaves a wife and five sons and daughters to mourn his departure. He has been a familiar figure on our streets for many years, and all will miss his quaint and cheerful humor.

His funeral was held on Tuesday, Aug. l3, and was conducted by h is comrades of the G.A.R. Post, who laid him to rest in Davis City Cemetery. His family desire to thank the friends and neighbors who did so much for him and them in his last illness.
