DELLIE B. VERNON, wife of W.A. NICKELL, died at their home 2 l/2 miles east of Lineville on Friday, May 30th, of typhoid fever. DELLIE B. VERNON was born in Wyoming, Jones County, Iowa, August 2, l87l, was married to W.A. NICKELL January 9, l898. To them was born one child, ELSIE M., a daughter, who died at the age of l3 l/2 months.
The deceased became a member of the Catholic Church when seven years of age and remained a faithful member of that church until her marriage, after which she affiliated with the Methodist Church. She was a loving and tender wife and mother and was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. Her bereaved husband and relatives have the sympathy of all in their loss. Her mother, MRS. MARY WHITMAN, of Carroll, Iowa, sisters MISS MAUD VERNON, of Des Moines, and BLANCHE WITMAN, of Carroll, and brother, ALBERT VERNON, of Vale, Iowa, also her uncle, DAVID VERNON, of Carroll, were here during the latter part of her illness and attended the funeral, which was held from the M.E. Church in Lineville on Saturday afternoon, the services being conducted by the Pastor, Rev. Smith. The interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
