Obituary.

Mr. Alma M. NEWBERRY passed peacefully away at 9:20 Saturday evening, after an illness of seven months, five of which confined him to his bed. He was born in Lee county, Iowa, from whence he removed to Shelby county, where he resided for many years, becoming a resident of Decatur county in May, 1891.

He was married at Lamoni, Iowa, May 22, 1884, to Philena Stella WHITE. Seven children, five sons and two daughters, came to bless their union, all of whom with the mother survive him. The oldest, a son of nineteen years, is employed as a stenographer at Sioux City, the youngest being a child of nineteen months.

The funeral was from the home, Monday, at 2:30 p.m., in charge of Elder Frank WELD, sermon by Elder J. R. LAMBERT, the interment being in Rosehill cemetery.

Thus is left to the care of wife and mother a large family of small children. But the example and teaching of the father have left an impression on them, one only for good, and one that will act only as guide in the ways of truth. The sympathy of the entire community is with them in this their sad bereavement.
