Subject: OBITUARY - MRS. MCDOWELL.

GRAND RIVER NEWS:

MRS. MCDOWELL, an old lady and settler, died Saturday. She had been

sick for some time with a complication of diseases and her death was not

unexpected. Her husband died several years ago at the homestead a few

miles west of town where she had since resided. She was highly

respected and especially by the older residents. The survivors of the

family are P.L. MCDOWELL and MRS. ROBERT REDD. One daughter, MRS. JOHN

GIBSON, died several years ago. A number of grandchildren survive her.

The family is one of the most respected of our community.

The funeral was held Sunday at the house and was largely attended. She

was buried in Oak Wood Cemetery.
