said of her by those who knew her best that "she was a good woman and
would sacrifice for others." She was not afraid as the night of death
drew on, but said she knew God had helped her to bear her pains and she
was ready to go when the summons should come.
Elder D.F. Sellards conducted brief funeral services at the Christian
Church Saturday afternoon at l o'clock in the presence of a large
audience. Many neighbors from the country were present thus attesting
the high regard in which the deceased was held. After the sermon, the
remains were taken to Des Moines and interment occurred in Saylor
Cemetery, Sunday afternoon.
Sweet mother, thou art gone,
Thy work has well been blest;
An angel came and hushed thy voice,
And bore thee home to rest.
Sad hearts remain at home,
We'll miss thee whom we love.
We'll meet thee by and by,
In that sweet home above.
