Subject: OBITUARY - PETER MARTIN.

PETER MARTIN died at his home in the southern part of town last Monday

night after an illness of nearly three weeks duration.

He was born in Mollingar, Ireland, in l832 and was 62 years and 5 months

old at the time of his death. The deceased was an old soldier, having

enlisted in the Third United States Artillery in August, l862, and

served until his discharge at Ft. Constitution, N.H., in l867, by reason

of expiration of term of service. Comrade MARTIN was married twice and

leaves a daughter by his first wife, MRS. MARY HAYS, who resides in

Omaha. His second wife was MARY BERRY, of Omaha, who survives him with

two small children.

The deceased was buried at the Catholic Church Cemetery in Woodland

Township yesterday afternoon by Leon Post 25l, of which he was a devoted

member.
