MR. T.E. MARLIN was born in Miami County, Ohio, May 6, l827, and died in

Leon, Iowa, March l4, l903, being 75 years, l0 months and l6 days of

age. The early part of MR. MARLIN's life was spent in his native

state. In the year l86l he came to Decatur County, Iowa from the state

of Ohio. Since that time he has made this county his home, and the most

of these years have been spent in Leon. On February l6, l864, MR.

MARLIN was married to MISS EMMA TULLIS. Of this union there were born

two daughters. The wife, now widow, one daughter and a step-son survive

the departed.

For twenty-five years MR. MARLIN has been identified with the church.

He has always been known as a peaceable, hard working and honorable

citizen and neighbor. Funeral services were conducted at his late

residence in South Leon, Sunday afternoon, March l5, by Rev. I.N.

Woodward of the M.E. Church, assisted by Rev. Hubbell of the Christian

Church. Interment was made in the Leon Cemetery.
