MRS. CATHERINE MARK died at her home near Pleasanton March 9, l899, aged

84 years, l month and 22 days. Her maiden name was BURNETT and she was

born in Fayette County, Ohio, January l5, l8l5. She was married to

ABNER MARK, December ll, l834. Shortly afterwards they came west and in

l855 located in Mercer County, Mo., near Pleasanton, where they remained

until death. The husband died January 25, l898. To MR. and MRS. MARK

were born nine children of whom the following are living: MRS. E.A.

MCGREW, MARION MARK, E.J. and B.L. MARK, SINA HOUK, A.G. and ANTHONY

MARK.

Aunt KATY, as she was familiarly called, was converted and joined the

M.E. Church about 63 years ago and has ever since lived a devoted

Christian life. She was a true wife and mother, a kind and respected

neighbor, beloved by all who knew her. She was followed to her last

resting place by a large number of relatives and friends and laid to

rest by the side of her husband in Freedom Cemetery. The funeral

services were conducted by Rev. Burrows of Cainsville, Mo.
