MATTIE MCINTOSH was born August l5th, l873 in Mercer County, Mo., and died at the parental home March 27, l899 at 7:30 p.m., aged 25 years, 7 months and l2 days. Her sickness has been of short duration there having been no indication of any serious illness until Wednesday of last week.
The greater part of her life has been spent in this county, she with her parents having moved from Mercer County, Mo., to this county in l882 where she has ever since resided, and by her cheerful disposition and consistent life has gained the respect and affection of a large circle of friends.
Sister MATTIE was a very useful member of the Epworth League and was faithful in attendance upon all its services and in the discharge of all the duties imposed upon her. She was converted in the meeting held by the M.E. Church one year ago, and was a probationist in good standing in the church, ever ready to take a stand upon the Lord's side.
In the decease the church and League recognize the loss of a consistent and faithful member, while the family mourn the loss of a loving child and sister.
The father, mother, five sisters and two brothers survive her.
Funeral services were conducted at the Union Church Tuesday, March 28 and the remains laid to rest in the Davis City Cemetery.
A beautiful floral tribute in the form of the Maltese Cross, which is the emblem of the Epworth League, was furnished by the League, showing the high esteem in which the deceased sister was held.
