~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition to the funeral and obituary notice of CHAS. LINDSTROM, we wish to make special mention of the conspicuous and noble part taken by the K.P. Lodge in Leon in behalf of their deceased brother. About sixty members of the lodge, accompanied by the K.P. band, arrived on the 12 o'clock train and met the funeral procession on North Bridge Street and proceeded to the city cemetery where the last sad rites were said in solemn words by Rev. Mitchell after which the lodge proceeded to administer their last token of esteem for their beloved brother after the form as prescribed by the order. It was a solemn occasion and made a great impression on those present and well it might, proving to the world the great esteem and love for their members. Leon should be and undoubtedly is proud of her K.P. Lodge, which is composed of young men of excellent character and habits and is in probability the strongest lodge of the kind in Southern Iowa. In behalf of citizens we wish to extend our thanks to the lodge as a token of friendship and assurance of their welcome to our city, many times in the future, but we hope not on such sad occasions as called them here last Friday.
The Knights of Pythias as an order, while yet in its infancy has assumed proportions almost equal to lodges which originated ages ago, which has been accomplished only by the merits of its worth.
