Alma Elizabeth Jones, daughter and tenth child of Walter David and Susie Jane (Dean) Boles, was born September 19, 1919 in Grand River, Iowa and departed this life April 1, 1997 at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 77 years.

Alma lived all her life around Grand River and attended the Brick Country School and Grand River High School. She married Roy Jones of Beaconsfield, Iowa on August 26, 1938 in Shenandoah, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Donita, Ellen and Maurice. They lived on farms around Grand River all of their married life and celebrated 50 years of marriage August 26, 1988.

Alma was a member of the Grand River Assembly of God Church. She worked 12 years as a dietician at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa. Alma spent the last 7 years of her life in the Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Williard, Ray, and Everett Boles; four sisters: Ella Boles, Nellie Miller, Della Woods, and Violet Hall; and granddaughter Christina Jones.

Survivors include husband Roy Jones of Grand River; daughters Donita Havard and husband Don of Moravia, Iowa and Ellen Batty and husand Don of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; son Maurice Jones and wife Marsha of Ellston, Iowa; 6 grandchildren: David Havard and wife Sara of Columbus, Nebraska, Marcia Batty of Reed Springs, Missouri, Shawn Batty of Springfield, Missouri, Elisa Jones of Columbia, Missouri, and Laura Jones of Ellston; 6 great grandchildren: Tyler, Adam, Tara, Blake, and Jessica Havard of Centerville and Garrett Havard of Columbus; one brother Orel Boles and wife Dorothy of Osceola, Iowa; on esister Wonda Smith and husband Mansel of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister-in-law Frances Boles of Mount Ayr; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
