The Lamoni Chronicle
Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa

Floyd Cleo Johnson (sic) was born in Ringgold county, Iowa, Dec. 7, 1898, and died in Bethany, September 25,1935. With the exception of a few years residence in Missouri, he lived in and near Lamoni the greater part of his life. He was a baptized member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in February, 1920.

He is survived by his wife [Gladys Lavaughn Foreman, whom he married August 5, 1931]; father and mother; one sister, Mrs. Fred Garrison of Lamoni; one aged grandfather, Mrs.(sic) John Johnson (sic) of Hatfield, Mo.; a number of relatives and a host of friends. A brother Joseph Verne died in infancy.

He was always jolly and had a kind welcome for everyone. To the last he bore his suffering with patience and was always sociable and kind to those who came to see him throughout his illness.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the White Funeral Home with Walter Hayer in charge and Pastor Jensen delivering the sermon. Interment at Rose Hill.
