EVELYN LOUISE JOHNSTON, daughter of CHARLES and CHELSEA SURBER WHITE, was born in Decatur, Iowa on March 26, 1907, resident of Decatur County her life time, died of complications resulting from cancer on Dec. 17, 1985 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

EVELYN was married to EARL F. JOHNSTON Nov. 7, 1924. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1973. One son, JAMES also preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1945.

Survivors include son, KENNETH, Fremont, Ne.; two daughters; NORMA JEAN RUSSELL and CONNIE MCDOWELL, Adel, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her step-mother, RUBY WHITE, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; 3 sisters: MAXINE FUNK, Clear Lake, Ca.; JUANITA RICE, Rialto, Ca.; and IOLA JAMESON, Burlington, Iowa; 3 brothers: LESTER WHITE, Hot Springs,. Ar.; CHARLES WHITE, Buda Il,; and BOB WHITE, East Moline, Il; other relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Decatur Order of Eastern Star.

[Interment was made at Decatur City Cemetery.]
