Obituary ~ Verda Louise (Mallatt) Jackson
June 06, 1934 ~ October 21, 2015

Verda Louise Jackson, daughter of Harry Rossin Mallatt and Charlotte Elien (Bronson) Mallatt was born June 6, 1934 in Decatur County, and passed from this life Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa at 81 years of age.

Verda was united in marriage to Clarence "Ike" Ivyl Jackson on October 28, 1950 in Des Moines and 5 children blessed this union.

Verda worked hard raising her 5 kids and loved cooking, baking, sewing, and growing a large garden. She worked at Snowdons for many years and also spent time alongside her husband, Ike, shelling corn. She waitressed in Des Moines and Osceola until she retired.

She always enjoyed music and dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those relatives who preceded Verda in death were her parents, Harry and Charlotte Mallatt, husband, Clarence "Ike" Jackson, son, Larry Jackson, and brother, Dwayne Mallatt. Left to cherish her memory are: son, Bob (Glenda) Jackson of Van Wert, IA, daughter, Shirley Jackson of Osceola, IA, daughter, Sandy (Gene) Fry of West Des Moines, IA, daughter, Sheila (Ron) Toney of Johnston, IA, brothers and sisters, Harry (Jackie) Mallatt, MaryAnn Arnold, Donnie (Anona) Mallatt, Carolyn (Bill) Hass, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Van Wert United Methodist Church.

Memorial services were held at 1:00 P.M., October 24, 2015, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa. Interment was made at Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, Iowa.
