Orpha Fredica Lentz Johnson
Orpha Fredica Lentz, daughter of Jacob L. Lentz and Jane Lentz, was born Dec. 22, 1871. In Decatur county, Iowa, and departed this life May 30, 1938, at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 8 days.
She was united in marriage to George Johnson, Feb. 6, 1890. To this union five children were born. They are: Mrs. Forrest McCarty of Lineville, Mrs. Jane Petty of the home, Mrs. Della Beavers of Wilder, Idaho, Okey Johnson of Allerton and Paul of the home.
Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Phyllis and Edward Petty, also one brother Harty Lentz of Lambert, Oklahoma, six sisters, Mrs. Lottie Lockwood of Woodland, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Gammon of Cambria, Mrs. Jane Traupel of Garden Grove, Mrs. Josephine Bethards of Madina, California, Mrs. Cordeliah Brammer of Clio, Mrs. Clara Patton of Woodland. One brother Lewis and two sisters Delilah Williams and Ola Perdue preceded her in death. She also leaves to mourn her death a host of other relatives and friends.
She was converted into the Penecostal faith about twenty-five years ago and has been true and faithful unto death.
She was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, ever mindful of those about her and was loved by everyone. She was a good neighbor, sharing in the disappointments and sorrows of others. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were conducted from the Assembly of God church in Lineville, Iowa, on June 1 at 2 p. m. By Rev. Roy E. Scott. Burial in Evergreen cemetery.
