The whole community was shocked to hear of the death of little MERTIE

HATCHER Thursday morning. She was a bright child and her parents have

the heartfelt sympathy of the town and vicinity.

The funeral took place Friday afternoon at the M.E. Church, where the

funeral sermon was preached by ELDER Z. H. GURLEY to a large

congregation. The floral display was neat and spoke volumes for the

persons who were so thoughtful and considerate of the parents' feelings.

The deceased was buried in the Hamilton Cemetery.
