OBITUARY - C.E. HARRIS.

CLAYTON EUGENE HARRIS was born in Letha, Powhatan County, Virginia,
Sept. l2, l854; died at Leon, Iowa, April l8, l900, aged 45 years, 7
months, 6 days. In April l89l, MR. HARRIS came to Leon, where he
engaged in the grocery business until his failing health forced him to
give it up.

He united with the Baptist Church at the age of twenty-one and in
August, l895, he became a member of the Church of Christ in Leon. The
deceased leaves a wife, two children, MINNIE and EUGENE, a mother, three
brothers and four sisters to mourn their loss, besides a host of
friends.

Bro. HARRIS' career of unusual affliction but devoted usefulness, was
terminated in the prime of manhood. His warm, sympathetic heart led him
to remarkable devotion to the needs and sufferings of his fellow men.
His life was a living sacrifice to the Christ who said: "Inasmuch as ye
did it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye did it unto me."
Throughout his long and distressing illness, he manifested great
patience and hopefulness. His dying words showed the testimony of a
noble life which with faith in God, had already conquered death.

The relatives of the deceased wish to express their appreciation of the
kindly assistance and sympathy of friends during the illness of our
friend and brother.
