LOCAL NEWS: Last Wednesday MRS. HAMILTON died afer a long continued

illness, having been under the doctor's care the most of the time for

seven months. Her son, ED PIERCE, of Grinnell, and daughter, MRS.

CLAUDE CLARK, of Leon, were with her the last few days. She knew them

and was conscious to near the end but was too weak to converse much.

A very large concourse of sympathizing friends were in attendance at the

funeral sermon which was conducted by Rev. Tennant in the Methodist

Church.
