Decatur County Journal

April 2, l89l

DIED--At her home in Van Wert, on March 25, l89l, MRS. MARY ALICE HALL,

in the forty-third year of her age.

SISTER HALL, whose maiden name was CHAMBERLAIN, was born in Erie County,

Ohio, July 9, l848, and was joined in marriage to PEARL K. HALL October

7, l866, at Norwalk, Ohio.

She came to Iowa and stopped a few months at High Point in l868, but

soon removed to Long Creek Township and settled near Van Wert, but

settled finally in Van Wert, where she lived until her death. SISTER

HALL was the mother of seven children. One had preceded her to the

spirit world. The youngest was left motherless at the age of 6 days.

SISTER HALL united with the M.E. Church about nineteen years ago and has

always manifested a true Christian spirit. She was a faithful wife, a

kind mother and was highly esteemed by all her neighbors. Funeral

services were held at Van Wert, March 27th. The church was filled with

loving and sympathizing friends. REV. HOGUE, of the U.B. Church, and

REV. PRICE, of the M.P. Church, assisted in the funeral services.

We have no doubt that SISTER HALL will have a part in the resurrection

of the just. May all her family follow her as she followed Christ.

SETH SAMSON.
