HOUK - At his home near Lamoni, July 3, 1906, William Houk, aged 56 years, one months and six days. Mr. Houk was born at Bowling Green, Indiana, May 27, 1850. He came with his parents to Pleasanton, Ia., in 1859. He was one of a family of nine children, only two of whom survive him. At the age of twenty-four he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Frazier, who, with their four children, Mrs. O. Brenizer of Lamoni, Mrs. P. H. Ward of Leon, Mabel and Marlen at home, mourn his departure. Deceased was a man who had no enemies, he numbered all his neighbors as his friends and was highly respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the home on July 4 at two p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Frank Spurrier, after which the remains were laid at rest in Rosehill Cemetery, there to await the resurrection morn.
