John Hartshen passed from this life October 28th last near Pawnee, Missouri, at the age of 31 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was the second son of John and Matilda Hartshen, being born in Page county, Iowa, December 25, 1877; was baptized into the L.D.S. church July 29, 1894; was married to Miss Edna L. Harger, October 28, 1908, and in one year-on the same day of the month-he died. The funeral was held last Friday at one o'clock in the afternoon, in the Lone Rock church in charge of Elder Price McPeak; the sermon was preached by Elder Charles H. Jones; prayer was offered at the grave by Elder Joseph S. Snively; interment in the cemetery adjoining the church. Deceased had been sick since the 17th July. He leaves a wife and infant child, a father, mother, and seven brothers to mourn.
