HARP - Francis N. HARP was born in Perry county, Indiana, on the 19th of March, 1869. He came with his parents to Decatur county in an early day. The last few years of his life he lived on a farm about three miles south of Davis City until the past year or so, since which he has lived at the home of his brother, Marion, two miles south of Lamoni and with a sister at Davis City.
He had been afflicted with kidney trouble for several years which finally ended his life. He was a member of the L. D. S. Church and was always ready to defend his belief. In politics he was a republican and was always an aggressive worker in the councils of his party.
He died at Davis City, September 7. The funeral was from the L. D. S. church in Lamoni, Saturday, September 8, at eleven o'clock. A number of relatives and friends accompanied the remains from Davis City to their last resting place in Rosehill cemetery. He leaves an aged father, several brothers and sisters, and their families, and a host of friends to mourn.
