PAT GORMAN, a prominent farmer residing six miles east of Lineville, was

found lying in his barn yard thursday evening, March l5th, in an

unconscious condition. There were two gashes down the back of his head

and his skull was fractured. His l3-year-old daughter had been helping

him with the work at the barn and had gone to the house for a few

minutes. Upon her return, she found her father lying in a pool of

blood. She summoned assistance and the injured man was carried to the

house. Physicians were called, but he died the following day without

regaining consciousness. It is supposed that he was kicked by one of the

horses standing in the barn lot. He was quite an old man and his eyes

were defective, which probably prevented his seeing the danger until too

late. He leaves a wife and two children.
