GEORGE GIVENS was born in Burrell Townhip, Decatur County, Iowa, March 4, l883, died at the home of his father, J.H. GIVENS in Burrell on Sunday, Feb. 9, l902, at l2 o'clock, aged l7 years, 11 months, 23 days. Last fall he was stricken with typhoid fever and while apparently recovering, was taken with a relapse and has been gradually failing since that time.

The funeral services were held at Burrell on Monday afternoon, interment being in the cemetery in Burrell.

The deceased was an exemplary young man and many friends are sorrowing over his demise. To his aged father the blow comes with more than usual severity as within the past few years he has lost his wife, four daughters and four sons. To the surviving family is extended the heartfelt sympathy of many friends.
