The remains of MILES GAMMILL arrived at Lineville on last Thursday evening from El Paso, Texas, accompanied by his brother, WILLARD, and grandmother, MRS. RACHEL WASSON. His death occurred on Sunday evening, Oct. 2l, and his brother did not arrive until Tuesday. Upon the arrival here the remains were taken to the residence of MRS. GLEN WRIGHT, sister of the deceased, where the funeral services took place at l0 o'clock the following day, conducted by Dr. Glendenning. A large number of the relatives and friends of the deceased attended, and saddened faces and tears evinced the sorrow that filled every heart. Many beautiful floral offerings decked the casket. The pall bearers were George McLaughlin, Marlow Belvel, Curren Laughlin, James Davis, C. W. Bellows and Don Bruner. The remains were followed to the Gammill Cemetery near Spring Valley, by a large number of sorrowing friends, where the interment took place by the side of the parents of the deceased who had both preceded him to the other Shore.

MILES WASSON GAMMILL was born in Decatur County, near Lineville, December l8, l876; died of consumption at El Paso, Texas, October 2l, l900, aged 23 years, 8 months and 2 days. He was the son of IRA and LUCY GAMMILL. The mother died in l88l and the father in l885, both of that dreaded and fatal disease, consumption. A sister, MRS. ALLIE WRIGHT, of Lineville, and a brother, WILLARD GAMMILL, of Leon, survive him. From the time he was first attacked by the insiduous disease until his death, he was the subject of the tenderest care and solicitude on the part of his sister, brother and relatives and all that could have been prompted by loving hearts was done for him in the hope of promoting his comfort and arresting the progress of the disease. But the end was certain and inevitable. Loving hands could not stay the hand of death and he has gone to that peaceful rest that pain or sorrow cannot disturb.
