Obituary ~ Nolan Paul Foland
February 5, 1904 ~ January 7, 1987
Nolan Paul FOLAND was born Feb. 5, 1904 in Grand River, Iowa, son of George FOLAND and Celeste (LITTLE) FOLAND and died at his home in Osceola, Iowa, Jan. 7, 1987, age 82.
He attended rural country schools in Decatur County and graduated from Osceola High School. He was married to Wilma RAMSEY in Des Moines Jan. 31, 1931. Two children were born to this union. He was a farmer for many years before retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Osceola.
Survivors include his widow, Wilma of Osceola; son, Don FOLAND and wife, Verda, Indianola, Iowa; son, Darel FOLAND and wife, Phyllis, Van Wert, Iowa; six grand children; seven great grandchildren; brother, Albert Foland, Grand River; sister, Thelma SIMBRO, Huntington Beach, Ca.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther PALMER; and brother, Van FOLAND.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 10, 1987, at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola [Iowa] with the Rev. Neville CLAYTON of the First Christian Church officiating. Organist Belva WHITE accompanied soloist Emil RINDERSPACHER as he sang selections Whispering Hope and Precious Memories. Casket bearers were Gary BEACH, Cecil PALMER, Carl PALMER, Cleo PALMER, Chet SHOWERS and Roger NELSON. Interment was in Grand River Cemetery.
