OBITUARY

ANNA ELIZABETH BRADSHAW FOLAND

Anna Elizabeth BRADSHAW, daughter of Huston and Ellen BRADSHAW, was born near Grand River [Iowa], Nov. 4, 1878, and departed this life Aug. 24, 1940, being at the time of her death 61 years, 9 months and 10 days. She has spent her entire life in this vicinity, receiving her education in the Brick and Foland schools.

She was united in marriage to Emmett FOLAND of Grand River on Jan. 28, 1903. To this union were born four children, three daughters: Mrs. Mason SNEETHEN (sic) of Grand River; Mrs. Pete McDOWELL of Van Wert; Mrs. Llye (sic) HEMBRY of Decatur, and one son, Raymond of the home.

When about sixteen years of age she voluntarily surrendered her life to Jesus, was baptized and admitted to membership at the Camden Baptist Church, where her heart has ever been.

Anna was a loving mother and wife. She always had an abundant heart of love for her family and friends. Her kindness was widely known and her friends were numbered by those who knew her.

She has been in ill health for over a year. After undergoing an operation at the Harken Hospital [located in Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa], she was brought to her home where all was done that loving hands could do. She patiently bore her afflictions of long suffering until she was released to come up higher and await the coming of her loved ones for a final reunion in “that City not made by hands.”

Besides her husband and immediate family, she leaves to mourn her departure four grandchildren: Norman and Nadena McDOWELL, Donna SNEETHEN (sic), Louise HEMBRY; two brothers: Charles BRADSHAW and family and John BRADSHAW; and three son-in-laws.
