OBITUARY ~ ALBERT LYMAN FOLAND
Albert Lyman FOLAND, son of George and Celeste (LITTLE) FOLAND was born April 5, 1906, north of Grand River and died of heart failure Nov. 18, 1997, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola [Iowa]. He was 91.
He graduated from Osceola High School. He lived on the home place [Michael & Elizabeth (SOWERWINE) FOLAND, Jr. homestead] until 1995 when he moved to Casual Living in Osceola. A retired farmer, Mr. FOLAND like trapping, hunting and fishing with his friends. He made several fishing trips of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Nolan and Van FOLAND, and two sisters, Esther PALMER and Thelma SIMBRO.
Mr. FOLAND is survived by seven nephews and their wives; grand-nephews and nieces; and other family and friends.
Services for Mr. FOLAND were at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Pastor Brian HARDEE officiating.
Organist Charletta DURRELL accompanied soloist Linda COX as she sang Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art. Casket bearers were his nephews, Carl PALMER, Cecil PALMER, Don FOLAND, Darel FOLAND, Dan FOLAND, and Richard FOLAND. Interment was in Grand River Cemetery.
