Another sudden death has brought sorrow to the homes of Leon people.
On
Tuesday evening last, W.W. ELLIS, better known as JUDGE ELLIS,
complained of difficulty in getting his breath. He got up and
walked
out into another room and sat down in a chair and in a few moments
he
was dead. He had been down town but a few hours before and was
feeling
unusually well and in fact was in apparently very good health for a
man
of his age--78.
MR. ELLIS was one of the oldest residents of Leon, and was highly
respected by everyone, especially by those who knew him in the earlier
days. He at one time held the office of County Judge.
MR. ELLIS leaves an aged wife and nine children; six girls and three
boys, to mourn his loss.
