Raymond Dean Earley
OBITUARYRaymond Dean, son of Joseph Hiram and Lillie Mae Lanyon Earley, was born in Decatur county, Iowa, April 11, 1909, and passed away at the Decatur county Hospital on Thursday, April 10, 1958, at the age of 48 years, 11 months and 29 days.
He was united in marriage with Dorothy Gray at Bethany, Mo., December 29, 1934. To this union nine children were born. The earlier years were spent in farming, but in July of 1951 he with his family moved to Decatur and he was employed as a workman at SargentÕs Quarry. From July to October of 1957 he was in Oregon during the fruit picking season and since that time had made his home in Leon.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good friend and neighbor. Those who survive to mourn his early passing are his faithful wife, the nine children: Hazel Mae Keith of Decatur; Shirley Marie Sheaffer of Oregon; Donald Dean of Leon; Francis Eugene of Toledo, Iowa; Joyce Darlene, Harlan Keith, Phyllis Jean, Lester LeRoy ad Cynthia Joann, of the home; one sister, Mrs. Velma Barth, of Blythedale, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Akes and Mrs. Beaulah Vandel, of Leon; one brother, Max Earley, of Leon; two grandchildren, Bibi Lerose Keith and Wanda Sue Sheaffer; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. George R. Lamb, were held at the Slade Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 1958, at 2:00 p. m. Organist was Eva Lamb and singers were Edith and Connie Gumm. Burial was made in the Decatur cemetery.

Died April 10Raymond Dean Earley, 49, of Leon, formerly an employee of SargentÕs Quarries, died in the Decatur County Hospital on April 10. Funeral services were held April 12, at 2:00 p.m., at the Slade Funeral Home, with interment in the Decatur cemetery.
Besides his wife, he leaves nine children.
