Last Friday morning, SAMUEL EVANS, an inmate of the poor farm, was

operated on by DRS. MCALLASTER and EIKER, for gangrene. The case was

one of long standing and had attacked him in the left foot and the

doctors found it necessary to amputate that member. The inroads of the

disease had left him in a very weakened condition and he was unable to

stand the operation and died the same evening.

He was buried on Saturday at the County Farm Cemetery.
