BENJAMIN EASTER was born April 24th, l8l4, in Highland County, Ohio,
and
died near Van Wert, Iowa, January 22, l905--aged nearly 9l years.
On March 7, l839, he was married to EMILY SNYDER, to whom were born
five
children; MILTON, SARAH, NANCY, JACOB and JENNIE. All these children
are living, except MILTON, who died in the Army, during the civil war.
After the death of the first wife, EMILY, brother EASTER was married
to
CALISTA PRICE, September l3, l855, to whom were born seven children,
all
of whom, with their mother, are still living and were in attendance
at
the funeral.
Brother EASTER's early life was spent in Ohio, and afterwards some three
or four years in Illinois. The greater part of his life, however, was
spent in Iowa, and for 35 years he has lived in the vicinity of Van
Wert. At the age of 23, brother EASTER became a Christian, uniting
with
the Church of Christ, and to the day of his death was a faithful member
of the church. His Father called him home to the better world, after
a
long and toilsome life.
The funeral services, conducted by J.M. Williams, were held in the
Christian Church of Van Wert, and were attended by a large number of
friends and neighbors.
