MARY EMMA HINDS was born October 4, l854, died at Lineville, Iowa, April 27, l90l, aged 46 years, 6 months and 23 days. She was born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, moved to Gallia County, Ohio, in l856; from there to Decatur County, Iowa, in l856; moved to Lineville, Iowa, in l885; was married to J.R. EVANS November 23, l876. To this union were born four children, WERF, GLEN, BLANCHE and MARIE, who survive her.

Besides her husband and children she leaves a father, step-mother, three brothers and sister to mourn her loss. Her mother died when she was four years of age and a brother and sister have gone on before to join the innumerable throng. She was a patient sufferer from consumption for more than two years. She was converted in the M.E. Church in the year '77, united with the Presbyterian Church of this place the following year.

The funeral took place from the Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by the Pastor, assisted by Dr. Glendenning, a very large congregation being present. The interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
