D.F. EURITT was born in Augusta County, Virginia, Nov. 30th, l826. January ll, l855, he was married to MISS HITTY BEAM. In the spring of l855, with his young bride, came by team to Iowa and located in Jones County. In l856 they moved to Washington County, and in the fall of l857, they came to Decatur County where he passed the remainder of his life.

About 26 years ago, under the ministry of Rev. D.B. Long, MR. EURITT was converted and united with the U.B. Church and as long as his health permitted he was a faithful worker in the church. For a number of years he has suffered the loss of his sight, and since l897, the decease of his wife, he has patiently waited his call to come higher. He was the father of eight children, four of whom have departed this life. MR. EURITT, in conversation with the M.E. Minister of Decatur, said, in regard to his prospects of the future, "It is all right with me."

The funeral took place at his home, February 20, conducted by the Pastor of the M.E. Church, of Decatur, and the remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife and four children who have gone before.

With Heavenly weapons he has fought
The battles of the Lord,
Finished his course, and kept the faith,
And gained the great reward.
