JAMES DUNN was born in Madison County, Kentucky, August 23, l8l6, died
at the home of his son in Decatur County, Iowa, March l2, l889.  He was
married to MISS LETTICE ACTON, April l, l839.  In l853 he moved to Davis
County, Iowa, and in l854 to Decatur County, where he continued to
reside up to the time of his death.

When a young man, he was converted to God and joined the Methodist
Church.  He leaves an aged widow, a son and daughter and a large circle
of friends and relatives to mourn his loss.  His son, ALLEN DUNN, and
his daughter, MRS. PRICILLA BEAVERS, are both living on farms in Decatur
County.

The funeral services were conducted by REV. A.T. JEFFREY on March l3th,
and were attended by a large number of the citizens of the county.  His
remains were interred in the Hall Cemetery.
