Hi, All

This is my first post.

John William Davis was my wife's Great grandfather.

The following is a from a newpaper clipping (I think it was the Lineville

Tribune)

John Davis 75, Pioneer is Dead (he died 6/21/1938)

John Davis, pioneer resident of the vicinity died at his home north west

of Lineville Tuesday evening about nine o'clock after a short illness, at

the age of 74 years, 8 months, 2 days.

Mr. Davis was born in Missouri on October 9, 1863 and died June 21,

1938. He has lived in this vicinity practically a lifetime and was a farmer

until the time of his sickness.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Davis, 3 sons and

four daughters. One son Orlie preceeding him in death about three years

ago.

The funeral services are being (unreadable) day (Thursday) (the rest is

unreadable)

(My notes: John was the son of Abner Morgan Davis and Elizabeth "Betsey" Ann

Shaffer.)
