[I received this sometime back from a descendant of Nancy Dale's. I was
thinking that the John S. Dale obit recently sent was her father-in-law, but
I don't know. Her mother, Eliza Alice Strange, daughter of Isaac Strange and
Eliza Ann Clark Strange. Eliza was our greatgrandfather, Isaac Clark's
sister. We learned some info about our line of family by tracking this line.

Iowa, April 12, 1971 at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 29 days. She was
the eldest child in a family of seven. She attended rural schools around Leon

Church of Christ.
She was united in marriage to JOHN EVERETT DALE, March 16, 1910 at the

for Colorado and settled on a claim near Yuma where they lived for five
years, before returning to Iowa.
To this union eight children were born, four girls and four boys. They
spent most of their lives near Davis City and Pleasanton until moving near
Humeston in 1941. They lived around Humeston until the death of her husband
in 1959. She moved to Leon in 1962 and spent the rest of her life in Leon and
Davis City.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers; two

and HUGH, Corydon; one brother, CARLSON SMITH, Leon; and sister, Mrs. ROBERT
(WILMA) SMITH, Blythedale, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grand-children;
other relatives and friends.
Ann lived a faithful life, always helping in any church when called upon.
She loved music, flowers and attended her own garden until she was 84. She
loved to crochet and do hand crafts, and was a good seamstress, enjoying the
work until death."
"This mother was a busy one,
Her hands were never still;
Although her work on earth is done,
She'll do her Father's will.
She never liked to idle set,
Was always kind and true;
And even in her worry fret
She helped both me and you.
She liked to lend a helping hand,
And always did it well.
To us her work and love will stand
We love her more than words can tell.
She loved her friends and family, here
And so 'twill be, up there, above;
Because to us she was so dear
We'll miss her constant care and love.
Although we know she needed rest
We miss her very much,
We'll keep in mind the very best;
Her smile and loving touch."
