Decatur County Journal

MARTHA ALLEN WORLEY was born in Casey County, Kentucky, May 9, l845,
and
died April ll, l905, of progressive paralysis.
She moved with her parents to the State of Illinois when quite young
and
from there to Mercer County, Missouri, in l865. Was married to G.G.
DUNN, June 2l, l868, and to this union were born eight children, all
of
whom survive her except one daughter who died when about two years
old.
Her children were all present at the time of her death. She had been
a
member of the M.E. Church since girlhood and was at all times a
consistent and devoted Christian. She called the members of her family
to her bedside and asked them to so live to meet her in that Heavenly
home, and told her friends and relatives that she was ready to go and
was just waiting to go when the Lord said "Come home." She leaves a
bereaved husband and seven children to mourn her loss. She was a kind
and loving wife and devoted mother, always ready to help her children,
was a kind and good neighbor and will be missed.
MRS. DUNN was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of this city and was
a
great help with her mature advice. She will be missed there also, but
she lives on. The good work she has done abideth and will on to
eternity. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bingaman, it
being her request before she passed away, at Bethel M.E. Church, of
which she was a member, in the presence of an overcrowded house, after
which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church
grounds. Peace to her ashes.
