The many friends of MR. and MRS. C.F. DONALDSON will be pained to learn

of the death of their son, ROBERT, aged l8 years, 8 months and 27 days.

The sad event took place at their home in Grand River Township, at 8:40

a.m., Wednesday, January 4, l899.

From the beginning, the disease baffled all medical skill, loving hands

supplied all that affection could suggest, but to no avail. Some time

before his death, he drank freely at the fountain of life and from then

on, death was welcomed as a shadow from which he would emerge and meet

with the outstretched arms of our blessed Redeemer and the host of

shining angels, and said he would know them every one. The opportunity

was lent of inviting friends to be Christians and to meet him where

parting would be no more.

The funeral services were conducted by the undersigned, Thursday,

January 5, at Elk Chapel and was attended by the community. The body

was then borne to Elk Cemetery and quietly laid to rest. As the casket

was being lowered, the choir sang, "Lord, I'm Coming Home," a selection

made by the deceased. The pall bearers were six young companions,

chosen by ROBERT several days prior to his death.
