Here's an obit from my late mom's news clippings collection. The newspaper is not identified but I suspect it's from the Corydon Times-Republican. This ELLIS family variously lived in Putnam Co., MO; Decatur Co., IA; and Wayne Co., IA:

KATE DUNCAN

Carrie Belle (Kate) DUNCAN, 90, formerly of Lineville, died Tuesday, March 24, 1987, at the Leon Care Center, Leon.

Mrs. DUNCAN was born Nov. 29, 1896, near Powersville, a daughter of Cornelius and Emma Lenora (DOMAN) ELLIS. She was united in marriage to Cecil V. DUNCAN on Feb. 25, 1931, in Centerville, Iowa. She was a member of the Lineville United Methodist Church and was a longtime resident of Lineville. For the last few years she resided in Corydon, Iowa, before moving to the Leon Care Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Billie Kay ACHESON, Allerton, and Evelyn DUNCAN, Des Moines; one sister, Vina GLADFELTER, Trenton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 9, 1965; her parents; one infant son, Kirk; three brothers; and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 27, at 1 p.m., at the Greenlee Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.

I hope the above helps someone. Kate's parents can be found in Morgan, Decatur Co., IA in the 1920 and 1930 census returns. Rick
