CLARENCE E. DOWNEY was born in Decatur County, Iowa, March 6th, l895 and died at the home of his grandparents southeast of Davis City, April l2th, l899; aged 4 years, l month and 6 days.

The life of this little one has only covered the space of four short years, but in this brief time it had found a place in the affections of the family and friends that makes its loss a sore bereavement. He was of a kind and loving disposition, cheerful and patient in his sickness. Funeral services were conducted at the Holden Church, Thursday April l3th and the remains laid at rest in the Hamilton Cemetery. Many friends were present to witness the performance of the last sad rites.

The family desire to express their thanks to the many friends who so kindly assisted them in their time of affliction.
